... I feel a bit sad that I can actually understand that. They do grow out of it though, if you tell them how lame it is enough times :D

thailand the country with the highest number of sexual reassignment has the same word for both; transsexuals, transvestites and many other assigned identifiers we use(ga-teui). interesting, this sounds quite like 'my go!'(pra-cheui).
what are 'gender issues'? a man could be confused and want to be a woman, a woman who was a man could want to be a man again. is gender then not identified by the individual. are there then many genders, perhaps a gender for every individual. i dont think gender is necessarily relevant on a website.

Hmm, sex and gender and the confusion between the two. Like so many things human, ideology and religion and power games enter into it.

Gender is used in language to distinguish between masculine and feminine and there are degrees of each although we tend to assume that a person expresses only either masculinity or femininity.

Sex is generally thought to be binary, female or male, but in fact there are many people in the world who are born with one or more intersex conditions, 1 in 75 according to many researchers.

Another way of considering gender is as a binary of man or woman, but some intersex people also consider themselves to be intergender, neither man nor woman.

A better set of choices might be the following.

Sex: male or female or intersex.

Gender: man or woman or intergender.

My return flight is around June 1st, and I'd better be on it or I'll be up the proverbial without a paddle. I'm working as a grocery packer for a huge warehouse that supplies all the local supermarkets. It's thankless, tedious, mind-numbing work but it keeps me fit and pays the bills. In fact I kind of enjoy the workout and the deep restful sleep I get every night.

I love questions. In the words of Oscar Wilde: "The only thing worse than being talked about, is not being talked about."

Hi Ad,
Just caught up with all your news - I had the same trouble as Mum and couldn't see the photos. Perhaps didn't wait long enough.
Hope you are still having a good time. Everything here going same old, same old. Gearing up for Christmas of course - had our office Chrissy Party at Burswood last Friday - Atrium for tea, then Paddy's for dancing/singing etc. Great night had by all.
All the best, and let us know what you are up to.
Love Nette

I've just been attending to my rhododendrons and they instucted me to ask you if canada were a species of bird would it be flightless? would it be carb conscious? would it predominately dwell south of the 30th paralell? Do you still purport to deny the obvious that Canada is in fact the penguin of international foriegn relations? All it takes is for some nut with an agenda to throw a handfull of mixed berries into the seaweed barrel and suddenly KAPOW!! it,s hello Gunter, got yourself an endangered marmaset caught up in your public works project have you. Well, the good lord knows I don,t have any answers- apart from the obvious ones of course but we all know what happened to the last advocate of plasticine eugenics and now his publicist is laughing all the way to the super flat farm. Just set yourself up with another grange account for such occurances is what I always say.

Hi Ad
great to hear you're doing okay. I'm interested to know how you got on with Bessie. What do you plan to do when you arrive back in Vancouver? Let me know if you want anything sent over. I am looking forward to one day visiting the places you have been to and will appreciate any tips etc of which way to do it., perhaps not the motorbike camping way though. We had beaut birthday party for Dad and he did enjoy all the attention and friends and family there on the day. Our or should I say your computer has taken a turn for the worst and Dad is out today shopping around for a new one hope he shops well. Okay Ad I'm glad you're alright please take care and talk to us soon.

Go Eagles - Eages are in the final - woo hoo!!!!! Glad to see you have not had a run in with "Gentle Ben". Your trip so far sounds amazing - they showed parts of Canada on Getaway and it looks stunning this time of year - we are very envious - one power ball and Mick and I will be over there. Caught up with everyone at your mum and dad's place a few weeks ago for your Dad's b'day. It was really nice to see everyone as it has been way too long - that will teach me for going away at Christmas. Pam however was up to her old tricks - drunk, dancing on tables naked - ha ha just joking.

Better get back to it. Thinking of you and be safe.

I'd be missing you if I didn't see you in my dreams every night...
Still, I long for you to return so I can run my quivering hands through your
blonde locks and clasp your hot manly body to mine, etc, etc.

Gem + Adam = mad passionate love :)

...deja vu anyone??

Hey big guy, missing you a lot. Didn’t realise you could leave comments to your posts, but I read somewhere that you were going off on your bike and taking a pad and pen with you to write, and that it was some crazy idea I’d helped inspire! Just wanted to say thanks, glad I’ve rubbed off on you at least somehow, and any time you want to swap places let me know. I know how much you miss programming for ungrateful wankers.

Yoh! Adam - how the heck are you? Well, that's enough about you - let's talk about us! Gotta joke for you - "How do you make a hanky dance? - give in? - Just put a little boogie in it!! s-s-s - a goody eh! Okay, down to business. It sounds like you are having a great time Ad - Are you happy with your bike for computer deal? Well done on passing your skills test - you will now be able to roam where and when you like - sounds like "Easy Rider" all over again - it's a classic movie Adam, a little bit before your time but it wouldn't surprise me if you knew it - a Peter Fonda special. Now, about our holiday - we had a great time and came back unscathed - ie no broken bones, blisters or snake bites! Matter of fact, there was a dearth of wildlife apart from some birds - spinifex pidgeons were cute. The scenery around the Western MacDonnell Ranges was great - we spent a lot of time walking up, down and along them. Also walked through some quite spartan bush terrain which was a nice change. The gorges were impressive too. Weather was great for walking - a tad cool of an evening and morning but hey, nothing we weren't prepared for. The crew looked after us well - ie the guide for the walk - Natalie; and the chief cook & bottle-wash, driver extraordinare, font of information - Andrew - they were good scouts. The food was lovely too - had pre-dinner nibblies each night which complemented our choice of wines we had taken with us - it was a great way to end the day and watching the sun set. It was great to catch up with our friends Ron and Lyn from Darwin. The others in the group were good too - had lots of laughs. Well my boy, spose I should go and make the salmon patties for Kevin's lunch so he can go off to work - pour love! Oh yes! that's right, we, ie your Mum and I are heading "O/S" this arvo - Rotto of course. Nanette is already over there and Sue will join us tomorrow - aaaand, god willing...we will see Ken on Friday arvo!! - we'll be over there for about six days so it should be a great holly - mind you, the weather isn't that good but hey! we may just have to sit around reading, eating and drinking - bugger - can't help bad luck can you! No, I am sure Nette will get us out and about on a regular basis - even if it's just to the cemetery - with our torches - at midnight!! Well Ad, the computer has just come up "auto disconnect" - not sure what that means so hope you get this. Lots & Lots of love to you - stay safe, happy and healthy. P & K

Hi there Ad, Wow! the photos are fab, love the scenery around whistler, were they two bears I saw, not grizzlys though ehh! I loved the HonkKong photos also, it must of been hard to leave there. Perhaps you'll get another chance to stopover and have more time to look around and get some of the latest technical gadgets. We are all well here and caught up with Dave and Jemma last nite at the Circ De Soleil CIRCUS. It was fantasctic Nana had a cataract removed from her left eye today under a local anesthetic she was very brave and all went ok. Wishing you all the good luck for your drivers licence Ad I'm sure you'll do alright.

Hi Ad, love the photos and the bike!! I have printed a couple of photos to show Gran on Saturday. Going to the HawksvEagles game on Saturday then heading to the Swan Valley on Sunday for lunch. We have not been to the Swan Valley for ages so looking forward to a wee bit of wine tasting and lunch at Feral Brewing Company. Have not been to Feral before but people say it is all good. Enjoy and be safe.

OOOOh!!!!!!!!
Ad, well why am I not suprised.?
Just BE CAREFUL never presume that a car has seen you when out riding on your bike so always double check youself. How are the lessons going???? Has Liz mastered the laptop yet and your driving skills, how are you going with that? which side of the road do you use over there? I'm glad you are getting the right riding gear, insurance etc.
We have just had a lovely weekend weather wise, not so good otherwise Granma had a fall and broke a couple of ribs. She is in quite a bit of pain and spending a few days in hospital, Nana is going okay and seems to be settling into her new enviroment. Sue and Bruce and the boys were up for the circus on Saturday so I caught up with Ooze which was good. Dave Jemma Dad and self are going next week.
You have fun Ad take care and happy riding. Let us know soon how things are going. Luv from Mum and Dad xx

Hi Adam,
Strangely enough, I heard about your new motorbike from a different source! I am sure she has settled down by now. Please be careful and take all precautions when you are biking around. Will you be travelling with anyone?
I have still got my cold, but alas the sympathy and TLC is rapidly disappearing - I think I have played it a little too long, but heh, it was good while it lasted!
Happy motoring!
Love Nette and Phil and Jeanette

Ad,
ref Pam being rowdy/boisterous/ugly - it was all that AND MORE! Kev even had to mop the floors behind her! I hope they don't plan on having the wedding at the same place, because I don't think its a happening thing!
Am reading through all your pages to catch up on the last couple of weeks. We are going well except for colds - Jeanette and I - but Phil is doing a sterling job in providing TLC.

At the same moment, I saw movement down the left fork of the alley, which had not figured much into the battle as it led to a place directly in front of the musketeers. But all of a sudden a lone man on horseback was galloping across thet space: it was Excellentissimo Domino Jeronimo Alejandro Penasco de Halcones Quinto, mounting a one-man cavalry charge on his arab steed. he almost reached the enemy without suffering any injuries, for he had timed his charge carefully, and none of the musketeers were in position to fire. But as he closed the last few yards, sceaming " this is for the comments section of adams blogsite!" a shower of blood erupted from his back; some officer perhaps, had shot him with his pistol. the horse was hit, too, and went down on its knees. This would have pitched any other man out of the saddle, but Jeronimo seemed to be ready for it. As he flew out of the saddle he shoved off with both feet, pitching his hindquarters upwards; tucked his head under; landed on one shoulder; and rolled completely over in a somersault. In the same continuous movement he sprang to his feet, drew his rapier, and drove it all the way through the body of the officer who had shot him. "How do you like that one, eh? El Torbellino made me practice it untill I pissed blood; and then he made me practice it sme more until I got it right!" He pulled out the rapier and slashed its edge through the throat of another Frenchman who was coming up from one side. "Now you will learn that a man of Estremaduras can fight better when he is bleeding to death than a frenchman in the pink of health! I judge that I have but sixty seconds to live, which-" plunging his rapier into a musketeers neck "- should give me more than enough time to -" cutting another musketeers throat "- kill a dozen of you:-four so far-" he now revealed a dagger in the other hand, and stabbed a fleeing musketeer in the back "-make it five!"
But then several musketeers finally converged on El Descamparado, realising that there was no escape from the man unless they killed him, and plunged their bayonets into his body.

But as he closed the last few yards, sceaming ” this is for the comments section of adams blogsite!” a shower of blood erupted from his back; some officer perhaps, had shot him with his pistol. the horse was hit, too, and went down on its knees. “How do you like that one, eh? El Torbellino made me practice it untill I pissed blood; and then he made me practice it sme more until I got it right!” He pulled out the rapier and slashed its edge through the throat of another Frenchman who was coming up from one side. “Now you will learn that a man of Estremaduras can fight better when he is bleeding to death than a frenchman in the pink of health! I judge that I have but sixty seconds to live, which-” plunging his rapier into a musketeers neck “- should give me more than enough time to -” cutting another musketeers throat “- kill a dozen of you:-four so far-” he now revealed a dagger in the other hand, and stabbed a fleeing musketeer in the back “-make it five!”
But then several musketeers finally converged on El Descamparado, realising that there was no escape from the man unless they killed him, and plunged their bayonets into his body.

HI AD,

How you doing? Been wondering why you can't go onto Banff from Whistler instead of going back to Vancouver. I'm sure you have it all sussed though. Whats the weather been like there, it's bloody freezing here especially the last few days. Yesterday we went to watch the Dockers beat the Bulldogs at Subi good game and even though the Dockers won they really need to improve if they want to have a chance in the finals. Today we walked over to Left Bank for arvo tea with Doug and Dot was nice to catch up with them and they asked me to pass on their best wishes to you. Well I'm off to bed now. it's early here but I've a cold in my nose so I'm hoping I can shake it by having an early nite ... we"ll see. bye
ps.. Ken an Marina (we went to the footy wiith them) said to say Hi. luv Mum xxx

Hi Ad, Thought you might enjoy the joke below. Jac xo

CHALK ONE UP FOR THE OLD DUDE

An older, white haired man walked into a jewellery store one Friday
evening with a beautiful young gal at his side. He told the jeweller
he was looking for a special ring for his girlfriend.

The jeweller looked through his stock and brought out a $5,000 ring and
showed it to him. The old man said, "I don't think you understand, I
want something very special."

At that statement, the jeweller went to his special stock and brought
another ring over.

"Here's a stunning ring at only $40,000," the jeweller said.

The young lady's eyes sparkled and her whole body trembled with
excitement.

The old man seeing this said, "We'll take it."

The jeweller asked how payment would be made and the old man stated by
check. "I know you need to make sure the check is good, so I'll write
it now and you can call the bank on Monday to verify the funds and I'll
pick the ring up Monday afternoon," he said.

Monday morning, a very teed-off jeweller phoned the old man. "There's no
money in that account."

"I know", said the old man, "but can you imagine the weekend I had?"

Great to hear from you Ad, Banff is the place Nichol Brown is going to with her cousin and some of his friends later on in the year. I'll let her know you are heading that way soon. Niagra Falls should be fantastic, I remember seeing a film with Victor Mature in it years and years ago and If I remember correctly there was a scary scene in it with him walking a tightrope over the falls. Needless to say you'll give it a miss this time eh! What do you think of Whistler? We ha a beaut weekend here although, it was pretty wet and cold. It did'nt stop us from getting out and walking. Nana says hello, and Granma was asking if you were well and enjoying your holiday. They both send there love. Have a safe trip back to Vancouver and good luck on finding your way to Banff. I'm sure Simon will get his birthday wishes from you.
We are all very interested in how you're going and I for one can't wait to hear what Niagra Falls is like. I wonder how cold It'll be in Toronto, I'll have to get the map out to see where it is. Well Ad, will say bye for now take care and LOL to you from Mumxxx

Hi ya Ad!! Nice to hear you are getting some exercise. How come you found the lake if it was lost?? - yoooourrr sooooo clever! Yep, I thought Whistler would be xxxxxyyyy - lucky you don't eat much eh! Lucky you with the weather - a bit better than what we are getting at the moment but we no complain - after all, it is winter. We have been busy getting the bamboo flooring down - now we have to put cushioning on the base of the tables, chairs, sofa etc etc to protect it to some extent - we shant be paranoid about it with general people scuff marks - we don't mind it looking 'lived in' - having said that, people with hob-nail boots, stiletto/stilleto shoes and the like will be challenged before entry! - that's not unreasonable is it? Needless to say, the home still looks like a bomb has hit it. This Saturday, 1 July, we have someone coming to inset our dining room curtain into the bay window and to reattach a condensed version of the swags & tails. Next Tuesday, 5 July, the carpet is being layed in the three bedrooms then we should be able to get things back to 'normal' (I use that word loosely as you would appreciate). Then, the next job is to get the pool re-fibreglassed - the liner has sprung another leak and it is almost at the end of its 'use by' date so it will be 'cheaper' ?! in the long run to have the fibreglass shell re-surfaced. Mind you, we are hoping this can go ahead but we won't know until the pool has been drained, braced and the liner removed what sort of shape/condition the original shell is in - we're thinking positively!! Anyway Adam, I hope you don't have to pay big bucks for me filling in your comments page - glad you are well and happy ? Take care. Lots of love Aunty Pam & Uncle Kevin. PS Had a great time at Matt and Marina's Engagement Party down at the Bunbury Rowing Club - good to catch up with all the 'usuals'. I think I may have got a bit rowdy/boisterous/ugly but hey! - someone's got to do it eh? WJ xxx

ad....dear one

you can't live on tuna and noodles, you need vegies and fruit or you"ll end up with scurvy and look and feel scungy.

How far did you hike around Lost Lake? Don't forget to watch out for those critters that scavenge around bins and campsites. Please be ready to scurry if the likes of one of those them their critters happens to appear from nowhere.

We arrived home from our little holiday today and are pleased to report it went off without a hitch. Would have liked another couple of days in Sydney but never mind it is nice to catch up with Banjo again.

Have lotsa fun Ad
Take Care
Love Mum nd Dad xx

here we are in sydney having a lovely evening at ken and merrilyn's appartment overlooking DARLING HARBOUR, mild 20 degrees. we are on the 17th floor so you can imagine the views. WOW.... Our train adventure was absolutely fantastic, wish we were going back on it instead of flying home. never mind will just have to do it again another time. I don't suppose there is much snow at whistler at the moment with the temperature up around the 26 degrees. You sound like you're off treking soon, that should be wonderful up in that countryside. Dad is very interested in that area and where you are so it's great Ad to catch up like this. will say bye and talk to you again soon HAVE FUN FUN LUV Mum and DAD KEN AND Merrilyn xxxx

Hey Ad

Must be a very beautiful spot in the summer. Are all the restaurants and bars still open? We remember some good pubs there - can't think of the names but one was a boutique brewery. Food wasn't too expensive either but that might have changed - huge serves so definitely not a place where you go hungry.

Watch out for those bears if you go hiking AND REMEMBER they 'have shorter front paws than back - THEREFORE run downhill mate but for goodness sake don't fall over before they do - because they will. Or so we were told.

And don't scrounge in the bins after hours BECAUSE THEY ARE THERE!!

Jeez you're brave being out there with all those critters!!

Have fun Ad - can you put photos on this site ?

Now over to the beautiful Jan

Hi Ad gee I love that intro

Hi Ad,

Wow it is warmer there than here but then again it is winter here - doh! Nothing too exciting to report here - work is work and all my friends are falling pregant - must be something in the water - very scary. Catching up with mum and dad tonight for pizza then we are having a pretty relaxing weekend at home - might catch the new Batman movie tomorrow night.

Enjoy hiking and watch out for Grizzly Adams. Soak up some of that Canadian sunshine for us and take lots of pictures.

Jac

ps. what did those words mean.....
